Making a Blog:

Using Adobe Photoshop CS2: Written by Sandie

First choose the image you would like to make into a blog. Im using one of neopets background images size 800by600. Now go to {layer/new/layer from background} in the drop down menu and when a box pops up press ok. Since the image Im using is too big for a blog im going to resize it by going to {image/image size...} in the drop down menu and when the box pops up Im going to replace width 800 with 500.

To give the image an outline go to {layer/layer style/blending options} and when a box pops up click on the Stroke option. In the stroke options change the position to 'inside' and you can change the color by click on the red color box. Now with the rectangular marquee tool select the area where you would want the text of the blog to go and in the drop down menu go to {layer/new fill layer/solid color} and choose the color you want (I suggest white). Its going to be a solid box of the color you chose so now edit the opacity or fill % (see image below) to make the box semi-transparent.

the table that this is done in is usually located in the bottom right corner. Now just add text with the text tool and brushstrokes with the brush tool and your done! See the tutorial Text Effects for more ideas on what to do with your text and google search 'free photoshop brushes' to find pretty brushes for download
